Hello,
I did last year, an S-VHS collection digitally with the Canopus ADVC-300, an old high-end S-VHS recorder, Magix 2007 and as the MainConcept Encoder Mpeg2.
Now I have an even older collection Video 8 rediscovered.
What do you is the best hardware on the digitizer?
A Video 8 recorder and the Canopus?
Or better a camcorder?
Do you have a tip?

Video8 is a convenient format because it is relatively uncritical behaves. A well kept camcorders in conjunction with the ADVC-300 is expected to be slightly better as a means of digitizing D8 camcorder because you are targeting and settings as the noise can be somewhat minimized.
