Why is my captured clips in my premiere pro 2.0 mpeg?

After capturing (HDV material of SonyHDR-FX1E) saves me Premiere Pro 2.0 project from the clip gecapturten strangely not in AVI format but in the mpeg format in my.
Now I have another point of that that cutting with mpeg material is not exactly possible, not frame by frame, in contrast to the processing of AVI equipment.
My question: How can I just capture to AVI? [/ B]
