get a firewire card ... s.10Euro already mounted under XP/2000 easy because you do not have drivers benoetist ... so purely funtkioniert stuck and then it (usually * g *)
So if the camera gives you, then do not let this discourage you (still) do not have FW card.
Another advantage: When the card is mostly a video editing software is, certainly nothing earth, but for entry reichts all.

when my card was a version of Ulead 8er ... because the software was almost more valuable than the actual card ....
