PROBLEM: I suppose with from Ulead camcorder (mini dv tape) to
-edit everything
and then from there, then create the DVD with menu, etc.
-the rendering process takes a long time
-I play the DVD or from the saved file,
the image quality is so bad (Picture is ruckhaft and
unnatural), that it can not expect the film to
look.

Give the video from the timeline times as a new DV-AVI convert from and then with another MPEG2 encoder. For its price should be pretty good TMPGEnc (free version). The Canopus Procoder Express is always recommended.

Your anger is understandable, but Ulead is really not an expensive program, because there are entirely different caliber. If you're interested s.Alternativen: Magix VdL has a very good encoder and is located in a similar price range.
