Hi,
'm new here:).
am still an avid amateur film maker / cutter, but since s.Montag my iMac comes, I'm busy thinking, with what software I want to work in the future.
- Adobe Production Suite (CS5 when it is out there then) - I get as a student for around 300 euros!
- Final Cut Express - should be even better on the Mac, but without additional software and EXPENSIVE.
FCE is it worth anyway?
Gibts that somewhere cheap:)?

Had the same problem, but after I had worked for years with PP, I've also got the Productions Suite (for Mac) and am zufriefden top. Runs smoothly as you s.and synonymous said s.Mac FCS program is actually THE editing, but it has its price synonymous for Students, therefore, decided PP CS 4th
Especially is so synonymous away the incorporation - to make the program knows ....

ie I might as well be happy ambitious amateur film-maker on my Mac with FCS:)
Again back to the ebay.co.uk: Are these really full versions right? That would be 400 euros for everything together ... (Final Cut Studio)

If you only "sporadically" with photos or graphics bzgl working templates for film that is a good solution.

So for masks the less you do with motion on the Mac or just AE.
For graphics, images and patterns and so gimmicks it is recommended .. but basically, the synonymous Gimp Gimp is free and above all ;-)

If you want to work with Photoshop and After Effects, or must, then the simplest and s.Anständigsten together with Premiere. This is my experience and may well auvh of any confirmed. And then this is probably synonymous a suitable PC at least equivalent.

and what are alternative except s.Mac GIMP? Can one say that man with Motion as well get there (instead of AE)?

There are no alternatives to PS - except perhaps Gimp
And motion is just the "roughly" equivalent to AE
................
But I see as synonymous spat
Who is on PS and AE is synonymous with s.besten advised to use PP.
But then arises the question of just what really is needed then a Mac?
Therefore, I would say FC for Mac
and
Adobe CS for PC
But before anything goes thus synonymous on both platforms is the question or Meihnung eh irrelevant and practically almost pure taste thing.
I'll stay with PC and Adobe as CS, which is good for full benefits for my needs.
But I would cut a lot then I would possibly on a Mac and share in combination with FC
So this is basically up to you - and since you would have access to the student version would you go with Adobe probably cheaper - just the question arises what you later times (want to do professionally).
Then I would have an option.
At bottom, however, are the 3 different tasks / jobs
- Cutter
- Animation Artist
- Graphic Artist
