Ne again (perhaps stupid) question:
When I connect my Windows desktop onto the (connected via TV-out) and then extend Television'm running a video clip in the area that is represented by the TV, then the video looks to me exactly as if I myself via firewire - get out via DV camera to the television.
Is that correct? Am I then the color (YUV) I have exported synonymous with playing a video of tape or DVD?

An average television would start with an RGB playback anything, so it must be of the video signal output of the graphics card in YUV. I guess it depends of the particular graphics card, whether the representation corresponds to the actual video quality. If you are you should not even be sure, the way Firewire> Camcorders> TV is a good solution.
