Hi,
I have the following problem.
I have a video camera which is luckily digital. I once thought, since it has a plug s.meinen the PC goes to the FireWire port.
Well .. But the PC has detected nothing. No new hardware .. I can select anything.
When I got downloaded a progam
MAGIX Movie Maker deLuxe 3 e-version
he could find the video camera and I could take my film to the hard drive.
now .. but they were not included by 2 minutes, he has already used up 500MB Space .. The film is about an hour .. and that would be too hard. Besides these are the 2 minutes as Bildqualtät is mediocre.
Here's my real question.
What should I make for the PC to find the video camera (; not need now of a program?)

DV video has a data rate of 240 MB / sec. So that the data stream is sent of the camera. An hour thus requires about 13GB.
If your camera has not been detected, had the synonymous Magix software they can not respond. In W2k does it detect a hardware sometimes quite inconspicuous on.
To record, you can use a freeware program like Scenalyzer or WinDV. You can edit the video with Avid FreeDV example, this is Freeware and sufficient for most tasks. Even the newer versions of VirtualDub can deal with DV video.

Have a feeling you've never really dealt with video and DVD ...
So ..
DV has a resolution of 720x576 pixels. When capturing with Scenalyzer For example, it is automatically the correct size. They are then as AVIFile about 13GB per hour. Then, the film is cut with appropriate software. And then either export back to DV tape AVIzum or played as MPEG for further processing into a DVD. Almost all video editing programs now have an MPEG encoder s.Bord. That you need to create a DVD.
Let's say from 1 h AVI (; 13GB) you do by appropriate compression of about 3.5 GB of MPEG. This mpg file you import it into an authoring program to create a DVD menu and can then create the DVD. Pinnacle Studio does it all in one. I prefer to work with separate programs.
Even you, I would recommend some reading. There is create really good books on DV editing and DVD. However, synonymous costs a few euros ...

Thus, the conversion is correct. By the binary number system is an inaccuracy into the game quickly. At about DVD media: on the package is 4.7 GB, but actually there are 4.7 billion bytes, thus 4,589,844 KB, MB 4482 next and finally "only" 4.38 GB - at least mathematically. The actual value is somewhat higher.

Correction:
DV video has an average data rate in the consumer area of approximately 3.6 MB / sec.
3.6 MB / sec x 60 sec = 216 MB min /
216 MB / min x 60 min = 12 960 MB / h = 12.96 GB / h = approx 13 GB

This conversion does provide the correct result, but is de facto wrong. 1GB namely are exactly 1,000,000,000 bytes. See SI system.
