Infoseite // WMV to AVI - error due to data size

Frage von Stefanie:

Hello,

I would like a hand-edited and WMV video of 54 minutes to burn a DVD.

I read that I am the Project with the Windows Movie Maker only as a DV-AVI on my hard drive must save, and then with an MPEG encoder to an MPEG-2-file must be converted. And then I can burn it with Nero.

I have "save movie to computer" is clicked, the file name for the movie to be saved is entered, then when I select the movie settings under "Advanced Settings" DV-AVI (PAL) and it's happening:

The program displays the error message
Quote: The film can not be created because the movie file, the upper limit for data size at. The rest of the message is not visible.

Furthermore, there is:
Quote: Estimated space required: 12307.5 MB
Estimated available space on drive C: 34.01 GB

12307 MB These are probably pretty much in comparison to 213 MB, to me as "the best quality for playback on your computer" recommended. They are finally 35 percent of my free memory. Or is such a normal size? As long as the required space is not more than 100 percent of the available space occupies, would converting to AVI but still work, I think. Or the error may be synonymous with the memory-intentioned? I have tried synonymous, the video of thirds, but it was still the same error message.

Perhaps there is indeed here who, with the problem of what it can start and maybe even solve. I have a request yet: If you explained to me what I can do, then please do so that a Mädl that is otherwise not much to do with computers, which can understand.

I look forward to your response (s),

Stefanie.

Antwort von Chezus:

you have your hard drive to NTFS file system convert. It will probably be configured to FAT32. Give the error message at times because google you will find it.

In the forum, the topic has often dealt with synonymous

Hello Chezus,

thank you for your answer!
But quite honestly, if I try something so great s.meinem computer to change how to convert my hard drive, then do I determine what is broken. I have really no idea of computers and auc little time to make sense to me.
Is there perhaps another way? I have a computer with Windows 98 (XP is not like here), but without Windows Movie Maker, there is perhaps a possibility?
The error message is entered in Google, did nothing.

Regards,
Stefanie.

Antwort von Markus:

Hi Stefanie,

the existing file under a file size limit of 4 GB, ie, a video can be up to 20 minutes, before it in a new file needs to be continued.

So you could ever pieces of maximum 20 minutes as a DV-AVI export these pieces individually in MPEG2 file and then restore a file join. Choose MPEG2 for a data-conversion, with the 4 GB are not exceeded.

Then you can give this MPEG2 file with a suitable program on DVD-Video burn. At the seams, it then may be too short trailers during playback, but must not be.

Short and good: The FAT32 file system, as it Usin Windows 98 is used, is in video editing very difficult.

Hi Markus,

thank you, I try out the times. My hard drive is actually formatted as FAT32, but Windows XP. Gedrittelt I had my 54-minute film already, but maybe there's not enough.

Stefanie.

That is, it did not work? Is it possible to use smaller pieces to export?
